Deutschlandsemesterticket
The Deutschlandsemesterticket is an offer for students from state-approved universities and universities of co-operative education. The ticket allows the use of public transport throughout Germany during the semester.
Fare Information
- for students from state-approved universities and universities of co-operative education in Halle, Leipzig und Merseburg
- From winter semester 24/25, the ticket will also be available for students at “Hochschule Anhalt” in Dessau and Köthen and at “Evangelische Hochschule für Kirchenmusik” in Halle.
- valid throughout Germany for all local transport*

- is not transferable to other people (photo ID required)
* local transport: all regular buses, all local trains (2nd class) RB/RE/IRE, all underground and suburban trains (2nd class), all trams | Not valid on long-distance trains (ICE, IC) and long-distance buses
The Deutschlandticket can be offered to students on the basis of a semester ticket contract as a solidarity Deutschlandsemesterticket. The fare for the Deutschlandsemesterticket comprises 60 % of the regular Deutschlandticket.

The amount is paid to the university upon enrolment or re-registration and is an obligatory part of the semester fee.
The Deutschlandsemesterticket has a fixed validity for the respective semester and cannot be cancelled on a monthly basis.
Display of the ticket
The Deutschlandsemesterticket is displayed as an electronic ticket via mobile phone app as a barcode.

Children, animals and carry-on items
The Deutschlandsemesterticket does not offer a free take-along arrangement for bicycles and children. The following take-along regulations apply depending on the university location:
For students of the university location Halle, Merseburg, Köthen and Dessau
- Up to three of your own children (up to the age of 14) can ride along free of charge on HAVAG lines.
For students of the university location Leipzig
- The Deutschlandsemesterticket can be extended with the module „bring along 3 children“ and/or “bring along another adult” for fare zone 110 according to the MDV tariff.
